If you read the daily material produced by multiple columnists, you have no doubt by now noticed the uncanny resemblance in the content of their opening lines to those of novels from the genres of dystopian or apocalyptic fictional literature. While using creative license in comparing their experience during the mandatory quarantine caused by Covid-19 Chinese Flu pandemic (panic-demic?); these writers mimic the tale of fictional characters telling of their lives as they attempt to survive after a disaster of biblical scale, global epidemic, zombie-apocalypse, or simply surviving a war and the subsequent occupation of hostile forces.
They begin their columns by setting the time e.g. “it’s day 29” or “we’re in the second month” and place, “as I write from my basement” causing the reader to reminisce of books once read that begin with the protagonist telling his story while confined in his bunker, mountain survival retreat, or concentration camp.
Why?
Simply put, the absolute vast majority of Americans have never experienced anything like this, we have no prior personal experience to use as a frame or reference. In an attempt to make some sense of this, we look at works of fiction or historical accounts; to find something comparable to that which we have been forced to endure.
Calm and rational leaders must look at the real data—that which has been compiled from our objective studies by local and regional doctors—and they must recognize that while most had the best interests of the nation and world at heart, the so called lock-down was ill conceived and poorly thought out. It is now time to end this charade.
Doctor Scott Atlas wrote for The Hill in an op-ed titled The data is in — stop the panic and end the total isolation on April 22:
The tragedy of the COVID-19 pandemic appears to be entering the containment phase. Tens of thousands of Americans have died, and Americans are now desperate for sensible policymakers who have the courage to ignore the panic and rely on facts. Leaders must examine accumulated data to see what has actually happened, rather than keep emphasizing hypothetical projections; combine that empirical evidence with fundamental principles of biology established for decades; and then thoughtfully restore the country to function.
Five key facts are being ignored by those calling for continuing the near-total lockdown.
Fact 1: The overwhelming majority of people do not have any significant risk of dying from COVID-19. The recent Stanford University antibody study now estimates that the fatality rate if infected is likely 0.1 to 0.2 percent, a risk far lower than previous World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that were 20 to 30 times higher and that motivated isolation policies.
It is now more than obvious, to a growing number of people, that either the World Health Organization was clearly negligent in compiling its data and recommendations or acted on nefarious—if not criminal—intentions to economically damage the world and Western culture.
The question arises now, how do we return things back to the way they were before this nightmare? If Doctor Scott and others are correct in their claims that this social distancing quarantine is not necessary as the Chinese Flu appears no more dangerous than a typical seasonal flu, then we should end this charade and return to work, school, normal everyday life.
But many of our elected officials do not want to take a chance and resume normal business as they are still concerned that their advisers—which still cling to provably false WHO models—might be correct in their prognostications that an abrupt return to normal will result in a tidal wave of new infections and the sacrifices made to flatten the curve will be negated. Most politicians will never take a chance to do that which is right, if doing so might be politically dangerous; so most choose to err on the side of caution while others actually enjoy their new found power in their respective dictatorships and are reluctant to relinquish that power.
The failure to follow the recommendations of a growing number of doctors—and the will of the people—have led to protests nation wide.
Protests nationwide scheduled for May 1 by Jon Rappoport, Canada Free Press
A growing number of groups in US states are preparing protests against the lockdowns on May 1.
I’ve found two sites that are publishing information on the protests.
American Revolution 2.0 and Open The States
As far as I can tell, this is not a top-down single-leader movement. It’s a state by state proposition. That would be a good thing. Groups in each state should run their own operations.
Here is a quote from American Revolution 2.0:
“Governor Executive Orders violate the United States Constitution and negate the responsibility of individual citizens for their ‘Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness’. The precedent set by removing these Constitutional Rights is staggering and to date unheard of.”
The freedom of religious worship is guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States and specifically prohibits the regulation or prevention of the free exercise of worship. Several Governors and mayors overstepped their boundaries by banning religious assembly even when the congregants observed guidelines outlined by the Center for Disease Control. This has resulted in a line forming at the various clerks offices across the nation as lawyers line up to file civil rights abuse cases against various elected officials.
Consider this piece from Charisma magazine:
Virginia governor Ralph Northam sued for criminalizing worship
Pastor Kevin Wilson and Lighthouse Fellowship Church on Chincoteague Island filed a federal lawsuit against Governor Ralph Northam for violating their religious freedom by targeting churchgoers on Palm Sunday. Liberty Counsel represents the pastor and church and filed the lawsuit today in federal court.
Police served a summons to Pastor Wilson for holding a church service for 16 people spaced far apart in a sanctuary that is rated for 293 people. The charge is violating Virginia Gov. Northam’s COVID Order 55 with a penalty of up to a year in jail and/or a $2,500 fine.
On April 5, before the service on Palm Sunday, a local police officer entered the church. He gave no introduction and did not ask for the pastor. He abruptly said they could not have more than 10 people spaced 6 feet apart. Then, after the service, two police officers entered the church in full mask and gloves and asked to speak with the pastor. They issued him a summons and informed him that if he had service on Easter, all attending would get the same summons.
A return to normalcy is handicapped by the fear propagated by the media. Earlier in this column, I noted the term panic-demic which has been coined to describe, not a viral pandemic of global scale, but rather a herd mentality response to the constant bleating of the talking heads on the media screaming death and destruction from an unseen adversary that—according to them—leaves millions of dead Americans in its wake. A useful tool used to get people to will fully submit to totalitarian control.
Some are addressing this fear.
Covid-19: Not Nearly As Dangerous As You Think
A sober look at the facts. April 27, 2020 Robert J. Shillman. Front Page Magzine
There is no “urgent crisis” due to Covid-19 that requires a lock-down of citizens. That conclusion is based on the following:
* The probability of dying from the virus in the US is very low: 1.5 out of 10,000.
* The death rate attributed to Covid-19 in the US, which has placed increasing restrictions on people, is about the same as the death rate in Sweden, 2.0 out of 10,000, which has placed very limited restrictions on people.
The number of deaths from the virus in the US is 50,988. The probability of dying from the virus in the U.S., therefore, is equal to the number of deaths divided by the U.S. population: 50,988/329,064,917 = 0.00015 = 0.015% = 1.5 chances out of 10,000 — a very, very low probability.
For comparison, 61,099 Americans died of the ordinary flu two seasons ago. That means that the chance of dying from the ordinary flu was 1.9 out of 10,000, which is higher than the Covid-19 death rate.
If you are a lover of history, you have undoubtedly remarked or at least thought that the next weeks and months are going to be interesting to watch, as history records the aftermath of what will surely prove to be one of the greatest blunders of mankind. But interesting is not a word we should use lightly to describe living through the time ahead. A time in which we will see more deaths than the virus produced through suicide and depression, increased deaths from preventable disease such as cancer due to the non-covid medical community being shuttered and early detection of such being prevented, poverty and the resulting depression will also be a problem as unemployment rates are now at their highest levels since the Great Depression.
We live in times that might be considered to be in keeping with the biblical prophecies of Revelations that tell of trials and tribulations, a persecution of the church, and a general turning away from God. We live in a time when religious freedom is needed more now than ever before as people will crave any glimmer of hope. We live in a time that calls for prayer and faith.
